Question by non-existent: Creating a WordPress theme from pure HTML + CSS?
I have an HTML website template and want to convert it to WordPress but I know absolutely NOTHING about PHP or WordPress theme-building. I need a tutorial so simple that it’s like “Paste this section of code where you want the comments….paste this where you want the footer.”
Thanks for any help, just trying to get my foot in the door with WordPress.
In addition to my question, if there’s no simple tutorials, then I want something that is for absolute BEGINNERS. I keep running into tutorials that are designed for PHP experts or something.

There are many WP theme tutorials, but since it’s not as simple as “paste this section of code where you want the comments….paste this where you want the footer”, nor is it possible to do it solely in HTML and CSS, you’re not going to find a tutorial like that. You’re asking for a tutorial on baking a cake without using any heat.

Question by Joseph Moore: Easiest but best method for creating a WordPress theme?
I am wondering if anyone knows a easy but good method for creating my own WordPress theme? I am not too good with HTML or anything like that.

Take the default theme and copy/rename it to something else. then start tweaking it. Use style.css inside the theme for your styling. If your not good with html its going to be difficult. A theme is basically a bunch of html code blocks broken up into different files. Its best to design the theme outside of WordPress, then move it into the wordpress template

WordPress is written in PHP, so you will need to download WAMP and WordPress to your computer. Next set it all up following the installation of your favorite wamp solution, then unzip or install wordpress as well to the www folder of your wamp solution. Next start your server and access your local host.
You should arrive at your wordpress theme and just go from there.
