It is attainable to use WordPress to show only a static web page.(but it is overkill if you just want to have one particular page and practically nothing a lot more.) A fantastic selection is to use a static page for your front web page, and posts on a web site page. This way your frontpage will keep the same, and if you wish to add information it can go on the website section.
Pages generally don’t have comment choices, so no one can comment on the frontpage. I advise to retain comments on blogposts, but they can effortlessly be turned off. To make a static page – Very first create a web page and underneath generate new page(and bear in mind the title you use). Go to the settings menu in your dashboard. Click the studying link. Choose the page you just developed to serve as your static front web page. For the blog page just do the exact same operation, and select the website web page as the page to show the most recent post. All is done in the admin panel and no programming is required..

Well it’s not in the CSS, It’s pretty entertaining how the designer pulled that off. It’s a gif image

or main.gif in your theme it’s a 1 pixel line of the colors to the left and right. Good luck!

have you asked your host? My host would do it for me.
but it’s quite easy to do. if you have an ftp program like Filezilla, you upload the theme into the templates directory, then when you login, go to Presentation and the theme should be there. I’ve done this many times.
It has to be a legitimate WordPress theme, tho, because it has to have a specific code for WP to recognize it.
