Question by Number 47: This WordPress theme doesn’t install correctly on my server, what did I do wrong?
I have this theme called Horizon by Cancerbox and it’s not installing.
I have the latest version of wordpress, and I don’t know what to do.
I uploaded the contents from the rar file into the wp-content/themes folder, and it says it can’t find stylesheets, etc.
Here is the site:
http://www.cancerbox.com/photoblog/
Here is the download for the theme:
http://www.cancerbox.com/public/horizon.zip
Please test it out, and tell me what to do to fix it.
Thank you very much

You didn’t do anything wrong.
It’s simply NOT a WordPress theme – it’s a PixelPost theme according to the About file in the zip.
Sorry.

Question by Sandy: How do I get this WordPress theme to work?
I have recently downloaded the States theme for WordPress. I have a hosting account with Justfree.com (if that matters to my question). I uploaded all of the .php and .css files into the correct folder (I think). When I log into my WordPress panel, I can see an empty box in the templates that says States 1.3 above it. When I select this theme, and click “view my site”, I get a message that says: Fatal error: Call to undefined function is_front_page() in /jotun1/justfree.com/t/i/g/tiger50/htdocs/wordpress/wp-content/themes/States/header.php on line 58
What can I do to fix this? Should I also upload the .jpg and .png files that came with the theme? Please help me fix this problem and get my site working! Thanks!

Yes, you need to upload the graphics that came with the theme. And check wp-includes to make sure query.php is there. (In general, you have to duplicate the directory structure of the theme files as downloaded underneath wp-content/themes/themename.)

I just made it widget-ready, but now there are those little dots (next to Archives and Blog roll). Any ideas on how to get rid of them?

What kind of code did you use for the blog roll and the archives? Are those headlines or lists?
If they are list, go to your style sheet file and add
ul {
list-style-type: none;
}

I’d say it’s a custom theme. Either he designed it himself or payed someone to do it. Wouldn’t be easy to replicate. You could try sending him a message and asking how you could get a similar theme…
