Question by Still Learning: using a wordpress theme i downloaded?

and i want to use it on blog it’s a ‘wordpress theme’ but as far as i can see there’s no way to import it on wordpress. you can download the css, but that wont allow me to import the theme, right? how can i use this theme? i’m not opposed to using another hosting site, i just like wordpress.com

Answer by Sherry
The theme you downloaded is meant to be used on a self-hosted WordPress installation. Meaning you will have installed the WordPress software from WordPress.ORG onto your own web server. Then you can upload the theme and use it on your own installation.
But you currently have a WordPress.COM blog. Meaning you are using their hosting and their WordPress installation. It has a lot more limitations than a self-hosted WordPress blog. You can browse themes on WordPress.com and use what you find. But you can’t go elsewhere on the web and find themes, such as the one you linked to, and “upload” it to a WordPress.COM blog.
